MENTAL HEALTH RESCUERS

We implement a psychological support program based on the idea of Mental Health Rescuers (MHR).

DESCRIPTION

PROGRAM

OUR KEY PARTNER

The Mental Health Rescuers (MHR) program is internationally recognized. The program is designed to build a long-term and sustainable network of psychological support for Ukrainian refugees seeking refuge outside of their previous residence, which they were forced to leave due to the war in Ukraine.

Our goal is to equip refugees with the tools to cope with mental health and well-being issues, and to help others in their communities with such problems. This is done through a specially designed MHR psychological program that will enable the previously mentioned activities.

The goal of the project is to equip participants with the skills necessary to recognize and deal with mental health and well-being challenges, The MHR program is also used to train Mental Health Rescuers, including the emergence of so-called MHR Leaders from the community. MHR Leaders are the key to ensuring the longevity and sustainability of an MHR network that penetrates the fabric of the community, thereby providing psychological assistance where it is required.

Participants who complete the MHR training will become certified Mental Health Rescuers, demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and commitment. Certified Leaders will be able to help themselves and others, form their own MHR support groups, and help as many people as possible.

The program is implemented in cooperation with the Lower Silesian Center for Mental Health in Wroclaw.

Our cooperation with the Lower Silesian Center for Mental Health in Wroclaw allows us to provide invaluable support for the implementation of our mental health and well-being projects in the persons of dozens of psychiatrists and psychologists, including professors in psychiatry who are among the most respected scientific authorities in the country. The Lower Silesian Mental Health Center's team also includes specialists from Ukraine, who also help take into account cultural and linguistic aspects when working with Ukrainian Refugees. This is even more valuable support for us, since the team of the Lower Silesian Center for Mental Health was an active participant in supporting refugees from Ukraine from the first days of the outbreak of war in Ukraine, creating the first psychological support points, and its experience is unique in the world.
